Last
August the teachers at Madison Elementary School really showed up for Mesa Arts
Center’s (MAC) Annual Educator Preview Night. And they have an arts residency
to show for it.
All
week long, MAC teaching artists have been taking over kindergarten and first
grade classrooms, to provide hands-on, visual arts activities around the
concepts of line, shape, color, pattern and texture. Madison received this
one-of-a-kind residency experience because they brought the most teachers to
Educator Preview Night, an evening hosted by Mesa Arts Center, for teachers and
school administrators to learn about in-school arts programs, workshops, field
trips to performances and more programs provided by MAC during the school year.
To
the parents of Madison Elementary School children: you’re welcome for all the
cool, new artwork your kindergarten or first grader is bringing home this week!
We were excited to celebrate imagination and creativity with them, and we’re
amazed by their inspired creations!
To
all the teachers, teaching artists, school administrators and MAC staff who
helped make this happen: thank YOU for your commitment to making the arts
accessible for everyone!
