Volunteers Make Mesa Arts Center Go 'Round

The mission of Mesa Arts Center (MAC) is to inspire people through engaging arts experiences that are diverse, accessible and relevant. The amazing and hard working volunteers of MAC help us to realize this mission, and they support the ongoing operations of MAC in numerous ways. The incredible volunteer program strives to recognize and utilize the talents of community members to assist in expanding services to the public, from hands-on experiences, to directing patrons to their seats, to helping to create hundreds of paper flowers.

Each year the number of people that volunteer at Mesa Arts Center reaches nearly 800. All of the generous assistance contributes a value of over $1,000,000 to stretch limited staff resources. Our volunteers are present in nearly every facet of MAC's work, including the studios, store, offices, Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, theaters and facility tours. And our volunteers make our large scale events possible, such as spark! Mesa's Festival of Creativity, and the annual Dia de los Muertos Festival
Whether you are looking to fuel your artistic interests and abilities or you would just like to get more involved in your community, volunteering at Mesa Arts Center is a wonderful way to give back while supporting arts and culture. Beth Benowich, a volunteer and student at Mesa Arts Center had this to say about her time and experiences here.
I love coming to MAC both as a student and as an artist/volunteer at The Store at Mesa Arts Center Artist Co-Op! My jewelry (Jewelry by BBDesigns) was juried in last year. The place is always buzzing with new ideas and creativity…I love being around all those tools too! It’s the most incredible facility I’ve ever worked in.
To anyone interested in taking part in the program, take a look at all of the volunteer opportunities here. And to all of our current, past and future volunteers, thank you!
